  Cedar Lake Speedway Cruise

  Curt Gobeli has mapped out a cruise to the “A Very British Car Show” at the Cedar Lake Speedway.  The event start time is Noon. The route drive time is one hour.  We should plan on arriving a hour early and throw in an extra hour for the unexpected. 

  So let’s plan on gathering in the Cub Foods parking lot, 10th St, Oakdale at 9:00am.

  DIRECTIONS:

  1.      Meet in Cub Foods, 10th St, Oakdale parking lot.

  2.      Turn right onto 10th St, east to Stagecoach Trail N. - 8.1 miles

  3.      Turn right onto Stagecoach Trail N, south to Hudson Rd N/St Croix Scenic Byway. - .7 miles

  4.      Turn left onto St Croix Scenic Byway, east to St Croix Trail N. - 1.3 miles

  5.      Turn left onto St Croix Trail N, north to I-94 E ramp to Hudson. - 350 ft

  6.      Merge onto I-94 east to Exit 1 for WI 35 North. - .8 miles

  7.      Take ramp and follow WI 35 North to Vine St/I-94 Alt. - 1.4 miles

  8.      Turn right onto Vine St/I-94 Alt, east to US 12 East. - 3.8 miles

  9.      Turn left onto US 12 E north, to Jct Co Rd U. - .7 miles

  10.   Continue on Co Rd U, Co Rd A north, through traffic circle at McCutcheon Rd to Co Rd I, just past Burkhardt. - 3.2 miles

  11.  Turn left onto Co Rd I, north to Main St/WI-64 BUS, Somerset. - 7.9 miles

  12.  Turn right onto Main St/WI-64BUS east to Co Rd C. - .9 miles

  Dick Wallrich Celebration of Life

  Dick, a longtime member, past president of MMGG and VSCR and also an avid supporter of vintage sport car racing, will be remembered as having a vast knowledge of all things MG and vintage British. His leadership led him to plan local, regional and national British car shows including vintage racing events over many years. His dedication and service to both these communities will be long remembered and appreciated.

  Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and support after Dick passed. As many of us know it’s not an easy road.  

  Message from Val, I am planning on a celebration of life here at our property on Sunday, July 13. Please join us from 1 to 4,16450 Kangaroo St NW Ramsey MN 55303. I want everyone to come and enjoy the afternoon. Food will be provided from one of Dick’s favorite restaurants. Soda and water will be provided. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring a beverage of your choice.   

  Dick would be excited if everyone would drive your cars and enjoy a nice afternoon of conversation and fun. Dick always considered anyone with an MG family. I know he would welcome everyone and be excited that you would celebrate him by talking about all the good times we’ve all had.

  (Dick) Every time we ride in the MGA it’s like our first date all over again!

  The  MN MG Group and the Minnesota T Register expect to be part of  a large turnout for the British marque, the featured car group at the Chanhassen AutoPlex the morning of Saturday, August 30th. 

  Please ARRIVE between 7:30 & 8am.
  

  Fellow MG'ers:  Saturday, August  30th, the featured marque will be British Cars including MG, Mini, Aston, Jag, McLaren.  

  • The address for Chanhassen AutoPlex is: 1740 Motorplex Court, Chanhassen.  It is about 1/2 mile south of Hwy 5 off Audubon Rd.  
  • New Hours!  The car show runs from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  
  • One of us will be there to direct you on parking.  The MG's will be parked against the garages across from the clubhouse in the main area.  The Mini's will be in the courtyard next to the Clubhouse where we have been in the past.
  • There is no charge to be part of the show but donations welocome.

  • Local Chanhassen favorites, Dandy Lion Coffee and Dog Park Gourmet, will be on site to provide great drinks and food to enjoy while at the show.
  • If your car is a 'leaker', please bring cardboard.  We will have a few pieces to share.
  • Best in Show:  Each month one of the Chanhassen AutoPlex board members will hand out a best-of-show trophy.  This happens at NOON, so you must be present to win.

  • Trailer parking is available at Family of Christ Church, 2020 Coulter Blvd.  
  • Please park at the East side of the lot. 
  • The drive from the church is about 1 mile to the Autoplex

  GATES OPEN AT 7:30  

  See more than 300 specialty automobiles as you wander the campus. 

  Take tours with the owners of many of our on-site “Caves.”. Most are built out with kitchens, meeting spaces, themed displays and so much more it will take your breath away.

  Someone will be there to direct you to the parking area for our cars. Please let us know if you plan to trailer your car so that we can direct you to trailer parking.

  If your car is a “leaker”, please plan to bring cardboard or drip pan. If you don’t have any, let us know and we will see if we can find some for you. 

  Each month will be operated by members of a different charity — Free will donations at the gate are always appreciated —- 100% of the donations will be going to this months charity. There is no obligation to contribute.

  We hope to see you there! This is a fun event with so many great cars to see and people to talk with.

  This years Osceola Wheels and Wings 44th Anniversary Celebration will be held on September 6th, 20254.  The event should again feature a Fly-in and Pancake Breakfast, Car & Motor Cycle Show and Air show. 

  With 24 signed up last year along with a few drop in members we hope to have 25~30 MMGG parking spots together! But sometimes parking for car show attendees is like feeding chickens. Getting there early and together helps. Remember workers are volunteers so be nice. 

  As a group we will be meeting at 7am at the Houlton Park and Ride Lot 1355 Hawk St, Houlton, WI 54082 just across the not so new St. Croix Crossing bridge that spans the St. Croix River, between Oak Park Heights, Minnesota and St. Joseph, Wisconsin.

  Be prepared to depart for Osceola promptly at 7:15am

  Pre-register for a quick check-in and to secure your spot, get your form and pen. You must to fill out, sign and return to get your windshield card, and dash plaque with your goodie bag.   Registration is $?? once the site is up.  http://www.wheelsandwings.org/  

  Come early and enjoy a Pancake Breakfast. Remember, bring cash.

  MGs parking with our group is possible if we arrive as a group we hope.  If you come late we cannot hold parking spaces.
