    January 30, 2022

    Dear GT-47 Attendees:

If there is anything we can say about the last couple of years, it’s that we’re living in unprecedented times. You’ve all seen on the news how prices have gone up, and pricing from the various suppliers for GT-47 is no exception. Together with the NAMGAR board, the GT-47 Committee has worked diligently to manage these costs.

However, as we’ve finalized contracts, we’re seeing significant price increases for food and beverage, facilities rental, regalia, and transportation. Factor in the high demand for these amenities in one of the nation’s most popular go-to vacation destinations, we are forced to increase Registration Fees for this event.

The GT-47 committee and the MG Car Club, Rocky Mountain Centre are going all out to make GT-47 an unforgettable event, for all the right reasons. We’re excited and eager to have you with us in June. I guarantee you that you’ll find it worth the effort and expense.

    All the Best,

    Jim Goodwin

    Chairman, GT-47

     *** MG2022 UPDATE ***
Due to overwhelming response we can no longer guarantee the availability of our convention rates at the Holiday Inn Peterborough-Waterfront

There are plenty of rooms still available at our convention rate at the Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn.

Those who have already submitted their registration up to this point will have access to our convention rate and should stand by and await their phone call from the hotel. We are requesting that you have patience as the hotel works through this backlog. The first list of registrants have been submitted and calls will be going out starting today.

If you haven't registered yet, we urge you to do so as soon as possible to ensure your top choices for activities remain available.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.

MG Car Club of Toronto and the North American MGB Register are excited to invite you to Peterborough, gateway to the scenic Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario next June 19-23 for MG2022. Peterborough, Only 17 driving hours away, is located roughly half way between Toronto and Ottawa and the area boasts some fantastic MG driving roads in Central Ontario’s idyllic cottage country.
Peterborough is a vibrant small city that is home to some excellent local attractions. We are thrilled to be heading back to Peterborough after hosting the very first annual convention of the North American MGB Register there back in 1992.

Prior to MG2022, the MG Vintage Racers will be having their 2022 Focus Event at the VARAC Vintage Grand Prix. The theme will be MG Against The World. Running from June 17-19 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park aka Mosport, located a short half hour drive from Peterborough. This promises to be a fantastic few days of vintage racing and when combined with MG2022 would provide an MG vacation for the ages.

MG2022 officially begins on Sunday, June 19 when we open registration. Sunday evening we have the NAMGBR Meet & Greet where you will be able to meet the officers and registrars of the register.

    • North St Paul

The North St. Paul History Cruze started on a Friday night in 1996 with about 25 cars near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Margaret Street. It has grown and now draws 700 to 1,800 cars each week that park along a half-mile + stretch of 7th Avenue and fills many adjacent parking lots. The street is closed to other traffic for the night and a fair-like atmosphere prevails with street vendors, music, and food.

The Cruze runs each Friday night from early June to late September (6:00pm - 10:00pm) rain or shine.  During the summer only six Friday nights are reserved for a "Car Club of the Night".  This year the MMGG has been selected and assigned August 19th as a featured Car Club.

The featured Club has a new reserved "premier" show-lot location. The lot is located on the east end of 7th Ave on the southeast corner of the intersection of 7th Ave and Charles Street. You enter the show-lot from Charles St.

The lot can hold up to 20+ cars so please contact me (Paul Lyon, plyon1962@gmail.com) or signup on the website “Events” section if you will be attending.  The Main Street show-lot will open at 5:00pm. As in previous years I will need some help directing attendees into the show lot and help picking the top car of the night.

    More information to come.

    Best wishes, Paul Lyon
